SteelSeries Spectrum 7XB

Moscow, January 27, 2011 - SteelSeries, one of the leading manufacturers of specialized peripherals and accessories, presents the Spectrum 7XB SteelSeries headset. The device combines advanced wireless data transfer technology, ExactSND and LiveMix functions, interchangeable headphone jackets, and a proprietary retractable unidirectional microphone.

The world's first wireless headset for the Xbox 360® game console was shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in early January 2011. Soon this device will go on sale in Russia!

“We believe that SteelSeries Spectrum 7xb will offer Xbox 360 users the right combination of everything they want from a wireless audio headset,” said Bruce Javier, SteelS CEO, “Gamers and journalists very much appreciated the entire line of our wired headsets. Wanting to continue this trend, in the 7HB headset we connected our well-proven designs with interchangeable headphone jackets, powerful sound and wireless technology, and also added the unique features LiveMix and ExactSND, which have equalizer presets for various game situations. We are confident that Spectrum 7xb will be a landmark event for the entire audio industry. ”

Welcome to the wireless world

Although the SteelSeries Spectrum 7xb is the first wireless headset for the Xbox 360®, SteelSeries has more than 30 years of experience with wireless technologies. Such extensive experience has allowed the company to develop a unique design of a receiving-transmitting antenna, which enables us to create a product with the highest consumer properties. The SteelSeries Spectrum 7xb wireless headset transmitter is small and can be connected to an Xbox 360® console using a USB port or a 3.5 mm audio plug, allowing the user to make a convenient choice of connection method.

The radio channel operates at a speed of 4 Mbps, which is enough to listen to audio in “lossless” quality. So that other radio devices do not interfere with the transmission of high-quality sound, the device can be tuned to the optimal radio frequency, such adjustments occur up to 344 times per second, so that the sound quality does not depend on the noise of the radio channel. SteelSeries Spectrum 7xb can operate at a distance of up to 10 m from the console and has a special LED connection indicator. The headset has advanced energy saving features, in particular, automatic shutdown in case of long downtime, and can work more than 20 hours with two AAA batteries.

Full control

SteelSeries has designed the Spectrum 7xb so that it is easy to maximize the convenience of placing the headset on the head. A lot of attention paid to the sound settings. The player will be able to choose:

• Leather or fabric: our closed-type headphones come with two variants of fabric or leather wrappers. These materials allow you to achieve excellent sound insulation from external sounds.
• LiveMix: LiveMix button on the left earpiece allows you to enable the same function, which improves voice transmission in the background of such gaming sounds as explosions and shots, while adjusting the volume so that the user does not damage the hearing;
• ExactSND: Preset sound equalizer profiles can be activated with a button, also located on the left earpiece. This feature enhances the sound of game events such as footsteps and explosions, the musical accompaniment of the game, as well as when listening to audio compositions and when watching movies.

Great sound

One of the main rules of the company SteelSeries, used in the development of headphones, is the desire to ensure that the device perfectly conveys both sounds and voice. Spectrum 7xb headset has excellent sound quality, in which the player can accurately determine where the steps are heard or where the grenade exploded even against the background of playing music and other sounds.

The wireless headset is different in that all the controls are located directly on it, which adds to the players ease of use. And for those gamers who frequently attend tournaments or visit friends, Spectrum 7xb can easily be disassembled into four parts to avoid damage during transportation.

The new headset SteelSeries Spectrum 7xb will be available in the second quarter of 2011 at a price of 5,699 rubles.
