Olympus yesterday introduced two linear PCM voice recorders in Japan: the LS-7 and DS-800. The first model has linear PCM (WAV) recording mode and a bitrate of up to 24 bit / 96 kHz, and Olympus DVM technology allows you to make fine settings for recording audio in WAV and MP3 formats. The LS-7 model received 4 GB of internal memory, a slot for microSD / SDHC cards and a connector for AAA batteries.
The second DS-800 model has linear PCM (WAV) recording mode and bit rate up to 16 bit / 48 kHz, a slot for microSD / SDHC memory cards, 4 GB of internal memory and support for WMA and MP3 formats, but is not equipped with DVM technology.
New voice recorders will be available next month and will cost 24,800 ($ 302) and 22,800 Japanese yen ($ 278).
