More precisely, on behalf of the new company - WOOX Innovations, whose annual turnover is 1.6 billion dollars, and the number of employees exceeds 2,000 people worldwide, which makes WOOX Innovations one of the largest companies in the world specializing in “connected entertainment”.
A bit of history. Concern "Philips" was founded in 1891, according to ru.wikipedia.org. Its founders were brothers-engineers Gerard and Anton Phillips, who opened a small factory for the production of light bulbs in the city of Eindhoven. After 7 years, Anton Philips during his visit to St. Petersburg agreed to sell half of the products manufactured annually by the concern. The largest order at that time was the order of 50 thousand lamps-candles, which were inserted into crystal chandeliers and with which the Hermitage was subsequently fully illuminated. Products of the Philips brand on a large scale were also supplied to the USSR.
In 1963, Philips developed a compact cassette tape that actually became the benchmark. In 1983, Philips, together with Sony, introduced the first CD to the market. In the 90s of the last century, Philips developed its own DVD format, which was later brought to a common denominator, since at the same time the same format was invented in Japan. The DVD was the fastest growing consumer electronics category in human history. In 2006–2007, Royal Philips Electronics concern gradually sold its mobile phone manufacturing division to the Chinese company China Electronics Corporation, which received the right to use the Philips brand for five years.
Until 1971, the concern was still headed by members of the Philips family, the last of whom was Frederick Philips (son of Anton), who began to lead the company in 25 years, and was arrested during the Second World War for not wanting to cooperate with the German occupiers. In 2005, at the age of 100, Frederick Philips passed away. And now the concern is headed by Gerard Kleisterle, and the headquarters were recently moved from Eindhoven to Amsterdam.

WOOX Innovations holds strong positions in the categories of “connected” audio, headphones, docking stations and home theaters in the current technology market. The company's products, which have won a large number of awards at various international exhibitions, have taken their place in the market thanks to three main advantages: sound quality, sophisticated design and innovative technologies. Plus, more than 50 designers and more than 30 sound experts work among the company's employees. The company is headquartered in Hong Kong.
In September, Philips representatives announced the start of a partnership with world-famous DJ Armin van Buren, a well-known innovator in the field of DJing and a five-time winner of the DJ Mag's Top 100 rating, reports woox.com. According to the company's specialists, Armin will continue his collaboration with WOOX Innovations in developing audio gadgets under the Philips trademark, both for professional DJs and for music fans.
WOOX Innovations plans to continue to develop its flagship Fidelio audio lineup, as well as to develop its innovative marketing communications, including the global companies Obsessed with Sound and You Must Hear It. And, of course, they did not forget about their favorite customers, the Russians, in the company. WOOX Innovations Eurasia LLC will represent WOOX Innovations in Russia, as well as in Belarus and Central Asia. Its CEO is Maxim Bondar, who previously held the position of head of audio, video, multimedia and accessories division within the Philips team.
It is also worth noting that Philips once led consumers through all the major innovations in sound since it made its first radio in 1923. The company was at the forefront of such major innovations as tape recorders, CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray players. With an estimated value of about $ 9.8 billion, the Philips brand now occupies a very good 40th position in the ranking of global brands. WOOX Innovations, as they say in the company's management, inherits the richest Philips experience and will promote this brand (Philips) in the field of “connected entertainment” in the future.
