Split headphone player: click your teeth and listen to music

Split

You can say goodbye to your old MP3 player. Now to listen to music, it’s enough to insert Split into your ears - an audio player and wireless headphones in one gadget. Managing the player is non-standard and it is performed by tapping his teeth against each other.

The device, which is still at the prototype stage, has 256 megabytes of memory and is controlled, as mentioned above, with a simple banging of teeth (ours, of course). In order for the masses to take advantage of the gadget, Split developers need an investment of $ 435,000. The money for the project is planned to be raised with the help of the Kickstarter venture capital fund.

How it works

Magnetic in-ear headphones are included when separating from each other. Due to the lack of a connecting cable, each of the headphones has a built-in MP3 player that plays music synchronously. Synchronization of sound occurs using radio waves. When the jaw is compressed, the accelerometer tells the device to change the audio track. The volume is adjusted by double compression of the jaw. If you want to eat or chew the cud while listening to music, press the right liner with your finger - the player controls will be blocked.

THE PLAYER USER INTERFACE

According to the developers, the current version of Split can store about 24 songs in its memory. Not very suitable for travel, but for runs it will fit perfectly. Music player is charged via USB-cable. Currently, the guys are working on the possibility of copying songs while charging.

Concerning sound quality

Here's what the developers say about it:

We spent a lot of time and effort to achieve good sound quality. These headphones are not at all a toy. At the output, the signal-to-noise ratio is 100 dB, which (theoretically) exceeds the sound quality of a compact disc (93 dB). Simply put, if you present it on a linear scale, the music will be louder than the noise 100,000 times. The range of sound frequencies lies in the range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which guarantees high fidelity and volume.

Split umbrella

$ 155 - and your in-ear headphones. Add a few more dollars and choose a color. However, there is a risk that the project will not collect the required amount of money. Over the course of a few days, about $ 28,000 of the $ 435,000 claimed was raised. Fundraising will be conducted until the end of the month. Rest details here .
